Wings Re-Sign Kirk Maltby

Wings Re-Sign Kirk Maltby

The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed Kirk Maltby to a 1 year, two-way deal. The deal pays Malts $525,000 at the NHL level and $105,000 at the AHL level. Malts will compete for a roster spot in camp, but he will likely start the season in Grand Rapids.

I expect this to be the last season for Kirk Maltby. He’s become a fringe NHL player because of the emergence of younger players like Justin Abdelkader, Darren Helm, Drew Miller, and Patrick Eaves.
