Welcome Back Ty Conklin!

The Red Wings have signed Conklin to be the #2 goalie behind Jimmy Howard for 1 year at 750k. Ty Conklin was solid for Detroit during his one season with the team in 2008-2009 going 25-11-0 with a 2.51 GAA and .909 SV% filling in for a still Championship hung-over Osgood. I can’t think of any other players currently on the market that I would rather have behind Howard. Conklin is a very solid #2 goalie and with Detroit’s revamped defense in front of him and Jimmy I would expect the Wings to be back in contention for the William M. Jennings trophy this year.
