The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed goaltender Jordan Pearce to a 2 year, 2-way deal that pays him $525,000 at the NHL level, $85,000 in his first year at the AHL level, and $95,000 in his second year at the AHL level.
Pearce had a great year for the Grand Rapids Griffins last season. He started the year basically as the 3rd string goalie behind Joey MacDonald and Thomas McCollum, but once MacDonald was called up to the big club and McCollum struggled in his first pro season, Pearce took over as the starting goalie. He played 44 games, went 20-15-5, had a 2.89 GAA, a .908 SV%, and 1 shutout as a rookie. He will battle for time with Joey MacDonald and Thomas McCollum again this year.
